Courtney Tyson

First Impressions Director

Courtney was born into a Christian military family and moved often, though she spent most of her growing-up years in Pennsylvania where her family was deeply involved in church life, always there if the doors were open. She professed faith in Christ as a child and was baptized, but after high school she realized faith could not simply be a verbal commitment, but a surrendered heart. In college, she chose to be re-baptized and committed to doing life God’s way.

In 2012, Courtney married her husband Bryan and moved to Southeastern Connecticut. They spent many years searching for a church family where the body was excited to GET to gather and serve. They served as small group leaders, kids, youth, and young adult ministry, and leading worship.

After multiple miscarriages, they were diagnosed with clinical infertility that couldn’t be solved without IVF + genetic testing. Trusting that God was bigger than any medical diagnosis, they chose to pray instead. The Lord worked miracle after miracle. Today they are raising four children, whom they homeschool on their small farm.

The Lord led their family to Revelation Church in 2023. They quickly stepped into serving with RevKids, RevGirls, joining connection groups, and helping wherever needed. Courtney stepped in to serve in RevKids in 2025 to cover staff leaves. After that she was asked to join staff, which she prayerfully accepted.

Courtney has a heart for discipleship, studying Scripture, and helping others experience a genuine relationship with God that shapes everyday life. She looks forward to welcoming you to church alongside the rest of the First Impressions team.

“For better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity.”
Psalm 84:10–11
